To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Statehood, the Centennial Commission, created by 1955 Legislature with $2,600,000 grant, directly staged “Exposition and International Trade Fair.” This gilt-bronze Eugene, Oregon Dollar was designed and issued by A.T. Campbell of Portland. 5,000 were struck in Gilt-Bronze and sold for $1. A sterling silver counterpart was also struck, but only 50 pieces total; and they sold for $12.50 each.
This particular example has been certified and graded MS66 by NGC. It is a beautiful coin with a lovely design. Lustrous, problem-free surfaces add to the coin’s eye appeal. It should make a wonderful addition to any collection!
